TryHackMe : The O Level we deserve

Lets start with some question

Then you are at the right place. I’ll be talking about TryHackMe’s latest initiative to help the folks who wants to take their baby steps into the wild wild world of ethical hacking. I also want to specify that I myself have been exploring this realm from around a year and know how intimidating it is to get started in this field.

With my experience I can quote that: “The resources are more and to pick the quality is where our hack begins.” So welcome aboard lets begin

What is TryHackMe?

TryHackMe is a free online platform for learning cyber security, using hands-on exercises and labs, all through your browser! It is one of the most used platforms for learning A to Z in cybersecurity with ever updating contents from the community itself.

What makes TryHackMe worth trying?

TryHackMe has many features some of the best are:

Create Streak and earn badges.
Room Specific Badges.
International and national ranking. (Way too important for your portfolio)
Invite friends and compete with them.
King of the Hill (Gamified attack save scenario )
Learning paths.
If stuck you have a discord community of 65K+ supporting members.

So if I Sign Up where should I start with?

Congratulations!! For you first steps towards an exciting domain of cybersecurity. Actually to start with cybersecurity you don’t actually need to know complex operations instead you should start with how things work, how two electronic devices communicate with each other and what in world that geeky OS (Linux is kernel :’) and not OS) works. All these things are well presented in Pre Security Path.

What will I learn in Pre Security Path?

Pre security path contains 15 Labs of about 40 Hours(Time completely depends on your interest) covering each and every topic that can be considered as the prerequisite.

One of the best features of TryHackMe is in-app navigational tour which enables even a noob to make use of the platform to its fullest and still if you are struck I can’t stress enough to join the discord channel and ask for help ❤.

Where to get the motivation? Are there any perks?

Motivation is something which derives us to be consistent with whatever we are trying to achieve and tryhackme team makes sure to give you that motivation. On completing this path you’ll be able to get a certificate from tryhackme which you can share online to mark your achievement. Not only this but during the labs you will also be awarded 3 Badges for specific skills you learn.
